Exciting Announcement!

Friends and neighbors – today, I am excited to announce that I will seek re-election to the Howard County Council.

Over the last three years, it has been an honor to serve the residents of Columbia, Guilford, Jessup, North Laurel, and Savage on the Howard County Council. We have made incredible progress on important issues in our community. I am proud of our work to deliver record funding for District 3 schools, strengthen our local environmental protections, advocate for accessible and affordable housing options for families, and promote safer streets in our community.

Howard County is a special place to live. Our community enjoys an excellent education system, a vast network of parks and open space, walkable and bikeable neighborhoods, and people from all walks of life. I love our community, and I am committed to ensuring Howard County is the place where all of our neighbors can live, work, play, learn, and thrive.

Our work together is just getting started.

As we emerge from the COVID-19 pandemic, there are many challenges facing our community. Climate change is an immediate threat to our everyday lives. Housing instability is on the rise as homes become increasingly more unaffordable and unattainable for so many. And our school system needs structural funding changes to meet the growing needs of students, teachers, and families.

There are big problems to tackle, and these problems must be met with bold, forward-thinking, and progressive leadership to guide Howard County into the future. That is why I am seeking re-election to the Howard County Council, and I hope to earn your support in the weeks and months ahead.

During this campaign, I will be participating in public campaign financing through Howard County’s new Citizens’ Election Fund. Through this program, our campaign will only accept small-dollar contributions from individuals, and no contributions from PACs, corporations, labor organizations, or political parties.

Our grassroots, people-powered campaign will be run by and for the residents of Howard County, and we need your support. Join our team today by visiting christianarigby.com/donate.
